Snolf is a new sport game, which combines the elements of two popular sports games: snooker and golf.
The game is played on the Snolf course with the length of 12 m and the width of 8 m. It makes the usage of a standard tennis court possible to arrange the sport competitions.
It is also possible to play Snolf in mini-variant. In this case the game is played on the Snolf course with the length of 6 m and the width of 4 m.
Mini-Snolf is played according to the same rules as Snolf.
Two players take part in the game.
The game is played with the golf balls: one - of red colour and with twenty one golf balls - of white colour, which are positioned on the form of triangle (pyramid) in the centre of the Snolf Course.
The players, by turns, stroke the balls with the putters, which are used to play golf.
The goal of the game - to hole eleven white balls into any of six holes, which are positioned on the perimeter of the Snolf course.
The player, who rightly holed eleven white balls first, is considered to be the winner of the set.
The match consists of three or five sets. The player, who won two or three sets accordingly, is considered to be the winner of the match.
Exciting mix of snooker and golf will keep your loved ones, family, friends and colleagues entertained all game long!
Happy playing Snolf!
The Snolf course is a flat rectangular field with the next parameters:
Length: 1200 cm
Width: 800 cm
Height: 9 cm
Height of the board: 6 cm
Width of the board: 5 cm
The long boards of the Snolf course are called - the side boards, the short boards - the back boards.
Six round holes are positioned on the perimeter of the Snolf course. The diameter of the hole is 10cm, the depth - 9 cm. The holes inside are coloured in white. The centres of the holes are equidistant from the nearest board on the distance of 35 cm.
The Snolf course is made of a specially prepared wood and water resistant glued boards. The Snolf course is covered with a green turf adapted for outside use. There is the "pyramid" balls mark in the centre of the Snolf course. The "pyramid" is formed by 21 (twenty one) white balls, like for playing golf. Each ball has 43 mm in diameter.
There is also the "hit-ball" mark on the Snolf course. The hit-ball has 43 mm in diameter too. The hit-ball is coloured in red.
Just take a look at the picture below:
1. The game starts on command of the referee. The player, who begins the game, strikes the red ball ("hit-ball") with the putter, - in order to break the "pyramid" of the white (playing) balls. Immediately after this, the same player makes the second strike, trying to hit any white ball and put it in the hole.
2. Each player can make no more than two strikes in succession. While executing the first strike, the player must hit the red ball in order to hit the white ball. The player must make the second strike only at the white ball.
3. If the player, who begins the game, misses and doesn't break the "pyramid" and the "hit-ball" doesn't touch any white ball, then the red ball returns on the "hit-ball" mark and the first player looses his turn to another player, who now starts the game.
4. If the "pyramid" is broken and one or more white balls are put in the hole(s), then the balls are all scored and removed from the Snolf course. In this case, the player continues to play the game and, again, has the right to make two strikes, - and, what's more, the first strike has to be made at the red ball in order to hit the white ball.
1. It is forbidden to strike the red or white ball two times in a row. If this rule has been violated, the holed ball is not scored and all the balls are returned to the previous position, and the current player looses his turn to strike to another player.
2. If the player strikes the red ball and misses the white ball on the Snolf course, then the right to the next strike is given to another player and the game continues without changing the position of the balls.
3. If such a situation is repeated by the same player three times in a row, then the player is penalized. If the penalized player doesn't have the holed balls, the penalty is minus one ball. If the player has the holed balls, then one of his holed white balls is returned to the "pyramid" balls mark at the center of the Snolf course.
4. If, by striking the red ball in order to hit the white ball, the player holes this ball, or another white ball which has been hit and holed on rebound, then the ball is scored in his favor and removed from the Snolf course. In this case, the player gains the right to make another two strikes, and, again, the first strike has to be made at the red ball in order to hit the white ball.
5. If the player correctly executes the two strikes and holes the white ball, then the ball is scored in his favor and removed from the Snolf course. In this case, the player gains the right to make another two strikes, and, again, the first strike has to be made at the red ball in order to hit the white ball.
6. If the player correctly executes the two strikes and doesn't hole the white ball, then he looses his turn to another player. The game continues without changing the position of the balls.
7. It is forbidden to strike the white ball to hit the red ball. If this rule is violated, then the strike is not scored, all the holed balls are returned to the previous positions, and the current player looses his turn to another player.
8. The white balls which have been "stuck together" (i.e., when there is no space between the adjacent balls) may only be hit with the red ball.
9. If the red ball "sticks" to the white ball(s), then it is possible to make the first strike at the red ball.
10. If, after the first strike has been made, there is a situation when all the balls turned out being "stuck together", then, before making the second strike, the player has the right to move away the white ball, which is the closest to the red ball, in any direction from the red ball, on the distance of 11 cm (the length of the hitting part of the putter).
11. If any of the balls has been rolled to the position closer than 11 cm from the board, then the player may move it away from the board in perpendicular direction, - on the distance of 11 cm (the length of the hitting part of the putter).
12. It is allowed to strike the red ball and hit the white ball, to strike the white ball and hit another white ball, with the following restrictions:
- If the red ball is holed, then the player is penalized. If the player doesn't have the holed balls, the penalty is minus one ball. If the player has the holed balls, then one of his holed white balls is returned to the "pyramid" balls mark at the center of the Snolf course. If, as a result of the strike, one or more white balls are holed, then all of them won't be scored and should be returned on the previous positions, - as well as the red ball. The current player looses his turn to another player.
- If one or more white balls are holed, then all of them should be scored in favor of the player and to be removed from the Snolf course. In this case, the player gains the right to make another two strikes (the first strike is always made at the red ball).
13. It is permitted to hole the white ball on the rebound off another white ball or the board. The rebounded white ball may be put in the hole, or it may touch the red ball.
14. If the red ball goes outside the boarded perimeter of the Snolf course, then the player is penalized.
15. If the white ball goes outside the boarded perimeter of the Snolf's course, then all the balls shall be returned to their previous positions, and the current player looses his turn to another player. If, as a result of the strike, one or more white balls are holed, then all of them won't be scored and shall be returned on the previous positions.
1. The set is considered to be over, and the player - the winner of the set, when he is the first one who holed eleven white balls by the rules.
2. The game is considered to be over, and the player - the winner of the game, when he wins two of three sets, or three of five sets, accordingly.
1. During the game, a player must not interfere with an execution of the strike by his opponent. Also, the players have the right to step out of the Snolf course while making a strike, as well as after the strike.
2. Any touch of the putter at the ball, located on the Snolf course, is considered a stroke made at this ball.
3. If the player touches any ball, located on the Snolf's course, with anything else but the putter (for example - with shoes), then he looses his turn to another player. After such an event, the relocated balls shall be returned to their original positions.
4. The quantity and design of the putters, which are used to play the game, are not regulated. The length of the hitting part of the putter must not exceed 11 cm. The player may replace one putter with another at any time during the game.
5. The white balls, which have been holed properly during the game, should be removed from the Snolf course and put on the special shelves for the holed balls in such a way that the referee or the players should always be able to see the number of holed balls and control the score of the game.
6. If the player has been penalized during the game, and by that time he didn't have the holed balls, then each white ball, properly holed by him afterwards, shall be returned on the "pyramid" ball's mark at the center of the Snolf course. The player keeps returning the holed balls until the number of the returned balls matches the number of the penalized balls.
7. The pair game is also possible, - when two players from each team take part in the game.
8. The referee makes an honest and fair decision on all the questions that arise during the game and are not regulated by these rules.

Snolf gameplay is similar to mini-golf gameplay. The most fundamental difference between Snolf and mini-golf is the rules. The mini-golf is played with one ball, which the player should hit in the hole with a minimum number of turns. In Snolf, there is also a special tactics, which adds the spirit of competition. Here we have to compete not only with the ball and the hole, but also with a rival - the second player. The goal of the game - to be the first to score 11 white balls in any of the six wells located along the perimeter of the Snolf field. There are 21 white balls and one red - to hit the white balls.
There are two versions of Snolf: a sports version and mini-Snolf. The sports variant was specifically designed so that you can build a playground for an 8 by 12 meters on a standard tennis court. The biggest disadvantage of golf lies in the fact that viewers watch it comfortably only on the green, that is, where is the latest blow to the hole. There are specially equipped places for spectators. The rest of the golf game can be viewed only on the video, because the distance from the initial blow up the wells can be 500 meters or even more. Players pass it for a few turns, and viewers have to either walk over them, or wait until the ball hits the green, where the player makes the final blow. Snolf gameplay mix is free of this disadvantage, since it is actually taking place on the tennis court already equipped with spectator stands and places for comfortable watching the whole game. Playground for Snolf can be easily assembled and disassembled for transportation to any convenient place. The playground with borders, six holes, and some rules was taken from billiards game snooker. But Snolf inherently still more closer to the mini-golf, than to billiards.
A mini-version of Snolf (mini-Snolf) is intended for office or home game - on site measuring 4 m by 6 m. The rules are the same as for the sports variant.
